Cumbria ATV dealer, Lloyd Limited, put safety at the top of the agenda with a special promotional campaign for ATV operators in the region.

The agricultural machinery specialist, which has two branches in Cumbria, ran a two week campaign to encourage ATV operators to convert their vehicles to run on Calor LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). In return for conversion, Lloyd offered 500 litres of free Calor LPG and a free safety helmet.

The importance of wearing a safety helmet while driving an ATV was publicised throughout the media following Ozzy Osbourne’s accident. Lloyd dealer principal, Penrith, Billy Henderson, said: “The heavy metal rocker is now fully recovered but his accident could have been a lot less serious had he been wearing the correct safety equipment.”

In addition to promoting safety, Lloyd also offers cost savings for operators who switch to Calor, the UK’s leaving provider of LPG.

Billy said: “LPG offers a cleaner burning, economical and more convenient fuel, which continues to gain wide acceptance in rural areas. Conversion is easy and refuelling is convenient thanks to the installation of a bulk tank on site. Users report that there is no measurable difference in performance between a bi-fuel LPG ATV and the equivalent petrol model. If you add in the cost savings of switching to LPG, operators must surely see the benefits.”
